The pre-wrath view seems to be a fairly new thought (late 1970s) and is one I personally ascribe to. Over the years I've been pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib all based on what other people have said/written and I finally came to the conclusion that I needed to decide on my own and not believe what other people believe.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NKJV) says
For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
I then looked in the book of Revelation for the first time wrath is mentioned and it is found twice in Rev 6:16-17 (NKJV) which happens to be the 6th seal.

So the latest I believe the rapture can happen is before/during the 6th seal, but it can occur any time before that. So the question is when is the 6th seal and for that I don't know.

Many people believe that the 1st seal begins the Tribulation. If this is true, then the 6th seal would be after the start of the 7 years. As for the question of what is the latest the 6th seal can happen, some people believe the seals take 6 months (starting at the beginning of the 7 years) so the rapture would be no later than 6 months after the Tribulation starts.

I've looked and I can find little to no evidence that the 1st seal actually starts the Tribulation. The closest I can find is Daniel 9:27 (NKJV) which says that he (anti-christ) will confirm a covenant with many for one week and people then believing that he comes at the beginning of the Tribulation. They then say that the 1st seal (Rev 6:2 (NKJV)) is talking about this same person on the white horse so the 1st seal has to begin the Tribulation.

For me, that is a big stretch and I believe that the seals from Revelation could start to be opened before the Tribulation start which, if true, could mean that the 6th seal happens to be opened near the beginning of the Tribulation so the pre-wrath and pre-trib rapture could be one and the same.

I know that this idea of the seals happening before the Tribulation goes against years and years of pre-conceived thinking, but again, I find little evidence that the 1st seal begins the Tribulation.
